Today, our statewide child care tour took me to Li'l Lumberjacks Learning Center in Cloquet. We heard about the need for sustainable wages and benefits for child care workers, along with affordable, high-quality care for Minnesota families.

Child care providers are the workforce behind the workforce, and they need our support at the Capitol to keep doing this essential work. We have work to do, and we need to stand with providers to make sure families and child care workers can thrive.

BREAKING: Elon Musk’s AI company is suing to stop our ban on AI ‘nudification’ technology.

They’re opposing a law that would prevent AI from generating explicit images of children. This deepfake technology has already resulted in a *26,000%* increase in child sexual abuse materials online.

Why does Elon Musk think that should be legal?

GREAT NEWS: Minnesota has seen a massive drop in catalytic converter thefts since 2023, when DFLers wrote and passed legislation to crack down on the crime and make it much harder to sell the stolen car parts that can cost victims thousands of dollars to replace.

Police across the Twin Cities Metro have reported drastic decreases in the crime since the law took effect.

Too many parents are stretched thin by the high cost of child care, and too many early educators aren't paid what they deserve to ensure their own families can afford their lives.

I visited Main Square Montessori in Winona to hear directly from parents about their experiences. Affordable child care is essential for families, local economies, and our communities, and I look forward to taking their ideas back to the State Capitol.

Every day, DFLers are working at the Capitol to lower costs for Minnesotans - even when it means standing up to corporate lobbyists, health insurance companies and Big Pharma.

You deserve healthcare, childcare, housing, energy, and groceries you can afford.

Today, House and Senate DFLers unveiled the Minnesota Values Project Policy Agenda 2027, which focuses on lowering costs, protecting our freedoms, and supporting working families. We’ve heard from many Minnesotans who are working hard, but still struggling to afford the basics. No matter what barriers Donald Trump and Republicans put before us, DFLers believe Minnesota can continue to lead by giving everyone a fair chance to succeed.

Check out the full agenda in the comments.

Amid many affordability challenges facing Minnesota families, child care is among the biggest. Thank you to Lakeland News for taking some time to chat when I visited Bethel Child Care Center of Bemidji last week and for highlighting our work to make quality child care more affordable and more accessible all across the state.
