America was built on rebellion, defiance, violence, compassion, and patriotism, and so that is the only language it knows how to speak. If you speak to America in only one emotional language then half the nation will never hear you.

Rights cannot be seasonal. Humans are not binary. America is not binary. Change cannot be delivered in binary. Yet the system and its yoke on rights and providing the privelege of freedom continues that trend. The trend needs to go... I don’t want to play with the pendulum. I want to break the machine entirely.

Freedom only works when everyone has it, even the people you don’t like. And If we are to survive, we must learn to live alongside all of our monsters — within ourselves and without.

“A people’s house cannot be built on hidden foundations.

We watch the East Wing fall to rubble while a golden ballroom rises — privately funded, publicly unexamined, built before the bill to keep the government open.

The President once said a shutdown would leave a ‘tremendously negative mark’ on the office — yet here we stand, workers furloughed, contracts unpaid, the State on pause.

When a nation’s architecture changes without conversation, we must ask: Who built this for whom?

Transparency is not a concession. It is the cornerstone of trust.

The corridors of power should echo the voices of the many, not the whispers of the few.

Tonight , for every citizen whose paycheck is delayed, for every taxpayer whose voice is deferred... may we remember: governance without accountability becomes its own kind of ballroom; brilliantly lit, but hollow at the core."

The veil thins this week — not in superstition, but in spirit. Samhain, All Hallows, Halloween… all the same heartbeat by different names. A time when we stop pretending that decay isn’t part of renewal.

We light candles not to chase the dark away, but to see within it. To remember those who came before us, and to remind ourselves that even endings have purpose.

The skeleton isn’t horror... it’s honesty. The mask isn’t deceit; it’s transformation. And the harvest isn’t death... it’s the world catching its breath before rebirth.

Whether you celebrate with prayer, with costume, or with silence under the autumn sky, let this week remind you:
Life is the shadow of light.
And remembrance is how we keep the fire alive.

Strange days when those once branded as heretics turn out to be defenders of reason. But perhaps that’s always been the cycle — when power sanctifies itself, rebellion wears the halo.

You don’t have to share their creed to recognize courage in standing against coercion. Whether they call it Satan or sovereignty, what matters is the insistence that belief, law, and conscience remain separate — that none of us should be forced to pray at someone else’s altar, literal or political.

Even whispers say a shadowed circle gathers out by Hidden Falls, speaking softly of the light and of Christ to those who’d long turned away. They call darkness their teacher — not to worship it, but to see through it. Because sometimes truth hides best in the places the proud refuse to look.

Freedom of thought means defending even those whose symbolism unsettles us. That’s how we keep the light alive in the dark.

“Rational thought in the current United States political landscape? What a concept. Maybe the Satanists can teach us a thing or two about how we should move through the world.”

Leaders do not earn authority by humiliating the people they serve.

In recent days we’ve watched AI-edited clips that turn politics into a carnival of taunts: jets dropping sludge on protesters, “4Eva” reigns, and grim-reaper pageantry set to borrowed anthems. These are not harmless jokes; they are messages about power: I am above you. I will drench you. I will rule forever.

When the highest office amplifies this, the harm doubles. First, it normalizes contempt for dissenting citizens—neighbors who love this country enough to speak. Second, it teaches the next generation that AI is a weapon for ridicule, not a tool for building.

We can do better.
My standard for leadership is simple:

1. Human dignity first. Protesters are not enemies; they are part of the covenant of democracy.

2. Truth above virality. If media is synthetic, label it clearly.

3. Create, don’t degrade. Let AI serve education, accessibility, disaster response, medicine, art... anything that lifts people rather than soils them!

4. License what you use. Credit who you borrow from. Artists are citizens, too.

A mature republic doesn’t confuse cruelty with strength. True strength is restraint, clarity, and care for the people you’ll never meet.

The future is watching how we use these new tools. Let it see decency.

California became the first state in the nation to legally define ultraprocessed foods as it begins to phase them out of K-12 schools, with the goal to officially ban them.

These are foods high in calories, low in nutrients and with increased chances of health risks -- items that are often staples in cafeterias. https://abc7.la/4ocpk4o

In South Korea, rainy days don’t bring gloom they bring magic.

Across Seoul and other cities, sidewalks and streets are painted with invisible ink that reacts only to water. On dry days, it looks like plain concrete. But when it rains, hidden art comes to life.

Bright flowers bloom beneath your feet. Whales swim across crosswalks. Uplifting quotes rise from the ground like whispers from the sky. This is rain-activated art, and it’s turning ordinary streets into living galleries.

The secret lies in a special type of hydrophobic and hydrophilic paint one part repels water, the other absorbs it. The contrast reveals stunning patterns and colors, but only when the rain hits. It’s not just clever design. It’s a reminder that beauty can wait in silence and show itself when you least expect it.

Created to lift spirits during Korea’s monsoon season, this urban art movement blends science, creativity, and emotional uplift. It turns a walk in the rain into an interactive experience part art, part surprise, and entirely unforgettable.

Because sometimes, wonder doesn’t need a spotlight.
It just needs a little rain.

I’ve heard the whispers in our streets, in our coffee shops, and in our classrooms. Some speak of Marx, others of markets. Some raise the red flag of revolution, others polish the brass of capital.

But here’s the truth that no side wants to admit: neither system is sacred, and neither is a curse. Capitalism without conscience devours its own children. Communism without freedom suffocates its own spirit.

What we hunger for is not a system, but a home. A place where work has dignity, where innovation serves the common good, and where no child goes hungry while wealth gathers dust.

Minnesota doesn’t need more dogma. We need balance. We need a future that takes the best of both — the fairness of shared responsibility, and the fire of individual opportunity.

If the old words are too heavy, let’s forge new ones. If the old systems fail, let’s dare to imagine something better together. The future will not be won by copying old books... it will be written by neighbors, standing hand-in-hand, dreaming beyond them.

Dear citizens, fellow Americans,
I have just one question for you: If you could speak to any leader in history, what would you tell them? What idea do you wish could be renewed, or what hope do you wish could take root again? What seed of thought do you long to see carried forward, to grow in the hands of those who will come after us?

I want to listen. Let me hear you.
