The Minnesota DNR is launching a new electronic licensing system on June 9. Phase one of the launch will include the hunting and fishing modules.
,
The new system offers three ways to buy a license (mobile app, online, or in-person from a license agent) and three ways to carry it (paper, PDF, or stored in the app).

As part of this transition, hunting and fishing licenses will be temporarily unavailable for purchase between June 2 - 8 as we switch over to the new system. During that time, people may fish without a license in Minnesota. All regulations for the season and bag limits will remain in effect. On June 9, fishing licenses will again be required, and you will be able to purchase them through the new system.

Turkey hunters need to register their harvest before the end of day (11:59 pm) June 1. They will be unable to register their harvest during the transition/cutover period.

For now, nothing changes for those needing to register or title recreational vehicles and watercraft. That module of the new system will launch later.

Members of the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office enjoyed attending the St. Peter ECFE Vehicle Fair last week, connecting with kids and families from across the community.

From exploring squad vehicles to meeting deputies, the event provided a great opportunity for hands-on learning, questions, and conversations. We always appreciate opportunities to engage with our youngest community members in a fun and positive setting.

This week, we recognize National Police Week and honor the dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice of law enforcement officers who serve our communities each day.

Officers are called to respond in difficult and uncertain situations, often placing the safety of others before their own. Their commitment to protecting and serving does not go unnoticed.

We also pause to remember and honor the officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We extend our deepest gratitude to their families, friends, and loved ones.

Thank you to Nicollet Public School for partnering with the Nicollet County Sheriff's Office K9 team during the school’s final safety drill of the season.

Partnerships like these provide valuable training opportunities for both our school communities and law enforcement while reinforcing the shared commitment to student and staff safety. We appreciate the cooperation of students, staff, and deputies who made this preplanned exercise a success.
