For the third year in a row, all three FHSD comprehensive high schools earned spots in the top 5% of U.S. News & World Report’s Best High Schools in Missouri!

In the 2026–27 state rankings out of 726 public schools:

- Francis Howell High School: #10
- Francis Howell Central: #13
- Francis Howell North: #35

The safety of our students, their families, our faculty and community remains a top priority for our district. In coordination with neighboring St. Charles County districts, FHSD is implementing new clear bag guidelines to help enhance safety and security at ticketed high school athletic events.

Starting this month, guests will be asked to follow the District’s new bag guidelines.

These guidelines will feel familiar to many, as they are comparable to those mandated at many collegiate and professional athletic events.

Ticketed high school athletic events include all levels of football, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, JV/V soccer, JV/V lacrosse and track invitationals.

Shopping Tip: Missouri’s Sales Tax Holiday runs from August 7-9, providing families with a great opportunity to save on qualifying clothes, supplies and computers, though participation varies by local city and county.

Incoming 6th and 9th graders: Mark your calendars for Transition Day!

Moving up to middle or high school is a big step. To help your child get familiar with their new building, we’re hosting Transition Day on Thursday, August 20.

Here’s what you need to know:
- Timing: The day starts at the regular school start time (view the bell schedule on the District website).
- Transportation: District buses will run their normal routes. (Pick-up and drop-off times and locations will be available in the Infinite Campus Portal on Monday, Aug. 10)
- Next steps: Keep an eye out for specific dismissal times from your child's school in the coming weeks.

First priority: Please remember that Online Registration Annual Verification (ORAV) is now open. All FHSD families with students in grades 1–12 are required to complete this in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal by September 1.

As families prepare for the 2026-27 school year, immunizations must be current before students return to the classroom.

The Francis Howell School District is partnering with Compass Health to hold a free back-to-school immunization clinic from 3-6 p.m. on Aug. 19 at Saeger Middle School.
