Two interesting things pop up right away from this post by mayor Ken Welch.
1- what is the name of the firm?
2- why now?
Like I said on my observation before. if you want to win this next mayoral election, you have to control the terrain. So far, Welch is taking no prisoners, despite his clear and obvious weaknesses. Even this post reveals a lot about why we can’t trust the guy.

Good news for St. Pete: We have once again received a clean external audit marking more than a decade of strong, consistent financial oversight. This achievement reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability, and making sure we’re using taxpayer dollars wisely.

As an accountant by trade, I take immense pride in this outcome. This independent audit affirms the City of St. Petersburg’s strong and transparent fiscal stewardship and responsible management of public resources. It underscores that our financial decisions are grounded in sound governance and reflect a clear understanding of how local government delivers essential services to our community with accountability.

I’m grateful to our dedicated staff, whose commitment and professionalism ensure that our City continues to operate at the highest standards. The results of this audit were presented at the Budget, Finance and Tax City Council Committee on April 9. The white Angelical needed a reminder of who the most influential religious leader on earth. They got it!

Pope Leo XIV en route to Algeria: “I think that the people who read will be able to draw their own conclusions: I am not a politician, I have no intention of entering into a debate with him. Rather, let us always seek peace and put an end to wars. I am not afraid of the Trump administration. I speak about the Gospel, I am not a politician. I do not think the message of the Gospel should be abused in the way some people are doing. I will continue to speak out loudly against war, to try to promote peace, multilateral dialogue between states in order to seek the right solution to problems. The message of the Church is the message of the Gospel, blessed are the peacemakers; I do not see my role as that of a politician, I do not want to enter into a debate with him. Too many people are suffering in the world.”

If this officer didn’t shoot this guy, there’s no reason why any other officer should shoot someone just because they are afraid. This officer is clearly old and close to retirement and still he didn’t shoot.
After watching this video, if he had at least tased him, I would have been happy.
Imagine how his unit probably clowned him?
Give this officer a medal for using appropriate force.
