As of summer 2022, The Friends of Mirror Lake Library has paused operations. (We hope it's just temporary.) We'd like to thank everyone for your support over the last ten years of author talks, book sales, First Night activities, Plein Air Painting, and the library's 100th anniversary party. The money we've collected is being donated to the library.

Today, July 15th, City Council will hold a public hearing to decide on whether to proceed with a local historic district designation for the Mirror Lake neighborhood, which includes the Mirror Lake Library. From the City of St. Petersburg: St. Pete Libraries Are Still Here For You.

St. Pete Libraries are closed for most in-person services, but many resources and services are still available:
- Curbside materials pickup at Main, Mirror Lake and West Libraries
- Computer access by appointment at Childs Park, James Weldon Johnson, North and South Libraries
- Tutor.com: free online tutoring, homework help and test preparation for K-12
- Lynda.com: free online learning for business, software, technology and creative skills
- Virtual programming, like Storytimes and teen gaming via Discord
- Book Blog: book reviews written by St. Pete Library System staff
