Students from Clearview’s GOALS Intensive Reading Class went on a field trip to the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg. Teachers Ms. Paige and Ms. Elizabeth said, "We enjoyed our Dali experience yesterday. Students were so focused as they viewed, analyzed, and compared the paintings and sculptures. And today in class, they hardly had trouble getting started on the GED-like essay and using evidence to support their ideas. Feeling emotionally connected to a piece of art took away their fear of the actual essay structure.” We need to go to museums more often, that's for sure. Submitted by CVAEC GOALS Teacher Ms. Paige.

Clearview Educators Honored at Kraf-Custer Banquet
Celebrating Excellence in Teaching Across Pinellas County

“It was an evening of pride and celebration as Clearview’s own Tanja Vurunic and Toni Molinaro were recognized as Outstanding Educators at the Kraf-Custer Outstanding Educator Banquet, held in April at Ruth Eckerd Hall. The event, hosted by the Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association (PCTA), honored exceptional teachers from across Pinellas County. As the PCTA Union Representative, it is my pleasure to recognize Toni and Tanja for their commitment, professionalism, and lasting impact on our students and school community. Their work exemplifies the very best of the teaching profession, and Clearview is proud to celebrate their achievements. The night was a meaningful celebration of outstanding educators and the difference they make every day.
About the Kraf-Custer Fund

The Kraf-Custer Fund was established through generous bequests from the estates of Dr. Anastasia Kraf and Ms. Lillian Custer. Their shared vision was clear: the funds were to be used by PCTA to recognize teachers who are truly outstanding in their field. Each year, the PCTA President appoints a Board of Trustees to guide the use of the fund. Once again this year, the Board chose to honor educators by hosting this special banquet—continuing a tradition that celebrates excellence, dedication, and the powerful influence teachers have on their schools and communities. ESOL Teacher Ms. Inguna's Level 5 Speaking Listening Class presented their business ideas last week. Students shared their visions describing the kind of business they would like to start. Everybody enjoyed creating specific business plans or just dreaming about, visualizing their ideas, and presenting them to the class. The future businesses the students discussed included the following: a mobile barber shop, a florist shop, a Haitian restaurant, a macrame souvenir store, a European travel agency, and a farm producing exotic fruit and raising fish and animals. I am looking forward to the future when I get to be everyone's frequent customer! Submitted by CVAEC ESOL Teacher Ms. Inguna.

May 2026 ESOL Student of the Month from Feeding Pinellas Northwest Church
Angel Bustamante

“Congratulations Angel Bustamante. Angel took his test today, and in only four months, he moved from Level 3 to Level 4. Angel has only been living in the United States for one year and been attending our school for just four months, so his progress is truly incredible. His consistency, class participation, attendance, and perseverance have helped him reach this level. I am very proud of his progress. He is a great example for our class. Even though his job is demanding, Angel takes his learning process very seriously and continues to work hard. He is a wonderful addition to our group. Way to go, Angel!” Nominated by CVAEC Feeding Pinellas Northwest Church ESOL Teacher Ms. Patricia.

May 2026 ESOL Student of the Month from Clearview
Thi Tuyet Nhung Phan

“I nominate Thi Tuyet Nhung Phan for ESOL Student of the Month for May. Thi is a friendly, familiar face here at Clearview. She is usually pretty quiet, but I know she is listening intently because she is often able to help steer other students in the right direction when they have questions. Thi is well-liked by her peers, not only because she is helpful, but also because she is friendly and enjoys some silliness, as well. In fact, I know she enjoys laughing at me from time-to-time. Last, her dedication to school and learning is creating a good foundation for learning the English language, and I’m sure she will be very successful. Nice work, Thi!” Nominated by CVAEC ESOL Teacher Ms. Brenda.

May 2026 ESOL Student of the Month from Feeding Pinellas Northwest Church
Irma Naudulaitis

“Originally from Lithuania, Irma Naudulaitis brings a positive and encouraging presence to our classroom every day. Her joyful attitude, kindness, consistency, and support for her classmates has made her a very special part of our class community. She participates with enthusiasm, encourages others, and always brings positive energy into the room. In addition to being a dedicated student, Irma is also a devoted mother who manages many responsibilities at home while caring for her 7-year-old daughter. Despite her busy schedule, she maintains excellent attendance and continues to show remarkable commitment to her education. Irma’s academic growth has been truly inspiring. She began our program on August 25th as a Level 3 student, and on her most recent exam on April 15th, 2026, she advanced to Level 5. This achievement reflects her hard work, perseverance, and determination to continue growing and learning. Irma is a wonderful example of resilience, positivity, and dedication, and I believe she is an excellent choice for ESOL Student of the Month. Congratulations, dear Irma. Sveikinimai, brangi Irma!” Nominated by CVAEC Feeding Pinellas Northwest Church ESOL Teacher Ms. Patricia.

May 2026 Graduates of the Month from Clearview

“Congratulations to four of our AHS/GED students for becoming our newest graduates this month. These 4 students showed up, put in the work, and succeeded in earning their diplomas. They were able to overcome work, life, and health circumstances to achieve their goals, and I am so proud of every one of them for not giving up when things got tough. One of the students has already enrolled with SPC and plans to further her education and build her social media platform, while a couple of them will move forward with Pinellas Technical College when the timing is right. Being the bridge that connects our students with their future selves is the best part of my job and I love helping them navigate all aspects of their school experience. Congrats to all 4 and cheers for a bright and successful future!” Nominated by CVAEC AHS/GED Teacher Ms. Jet.
