Does anyone have any steel toe work boots, size 10.5? I have a homeless man in shelter who is trying to work in sneakers but really needs the steel toe for safety…. Pic is just for reference.

I’ve procrastinated on posting. But I absolutely have to say thank you. Thank you all! We have officially closed out our last holiday sponsorship and last Christmas in The Park. I am in awe, in gratitude, and in love with what all you have made happen over the last 18 years!

Hannah's Homeless has sponsored families for Christmas since 2008. We started in 2006 with giving out food, usually as many cheap burgers as we could buy for $20-40, and giving them out in Williams Park. We've had some big moments, some big growth, some serious downsizing, and are now ending our 2024 year with one last Christmas In the Park event (Dec. 21st) and one last family sponsorship. It has been one hell of a ride and has changed my life in such a beautiful way. I'll create an event for the 21st, and will continue to post about sponsorship until we can say we've covered the 13 families, of which we have 6 spoken for. I know this year is especially hard as so many of us have been significantly affected by 2 back to back hurricanes. We have no expectations of dollar amounts or commitment level this year. We just hope to put smiles on some faces in whatever big or small way we can. If you'd like to contribute you can message me directly or donate via our website. I'm beyond grateful, and yes, a little sad to let it go, to have been able to do this for some many years.

Holy moly! It’s that time again! Time to play Santa! We just got everything together and are ready to start our holiday sponsorship of families! We have 13 families this year and hope to bring smiles and joy to these families in need! Please reach out ASAP if you’re able to help this year as we’re 6 weeks from Christmas, and want to be collected and ready in 4-5 weeks!

There’s so much devastation here that it’s heartbreaking. But like Mr. Rogers said, I’m “looking for the helpers.” And there are many! We used to offer laundry services to our community when we had our drop in center. With so much our our community now unhoused, more than ever, it’s nice to see laundry service being offered here at Allendale Church.

LAUNDRY ASSISTANCE FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY HELENE

This morning, the City has set up a full-service laundry facility available for impacted residents, located at Allendale United Methodist Church (3803 Haines Rd. N). This facility will allow you to wash and dry your clothes.

The facility will be open 24/7 until needed and staff will be there to assist from 7 am - 7 pm.

Thank you so much so Allendale United Methodist Church for lending their space for recovery.

It’s September. It’s still hot out. But soon our homeless friends will be dealing with cooler weather and outside. We’ll soon be in need of hoodies, hats, gloves, socks, and easy to carry blankets or sleeping bags. Let us know if you’ve got some older gently used items we can collect.

To the folks who participated, donated, volunteered, made it happen…you’re the real MVPs! Seriously, this couldn’t happen with all of you! This years Christmas in the Park was a huge success! Special thanks to Mohammad, manager of Dominos in Webb Plaza for the pizza hook up!!

I wanted to give a big shout out to all of you who’ve helped make this happen again this year! A total of 14 (had a last minute add on) families were helped this year! I’m not sure if donors want to be thanked publicly by name but I definitely have to mention Alise Stricklett and her crew at Homeowners Financial Group who sponsor multiple families every year!
