Some information from our City Councilman:

Below are some debris stats that I would like you to share with your neighborhoods. I know people are frustrated, but I can promise you that we are making progress. The sheer volume of debris from Helene and Milton is unlike anything we have ever seen, and the City and its partners are working as hard as humanly possible to clear it from your properties.

The City's debris collection contractor (Crowder Gulf) has collected an estimated 37,499 cubic yards from the City right of way as of this morning, 10/17/24. For reference, dump trucks are about six cubic yards. This estimate includes both Helene and Milton debris.
Below is the total number of hauler trucks that our contractor has operating in St. Pete as of 10/17/24 and it keeps growing. Keep in mind that almost all of these trucks are doubles, so multiply the counts by 2:
22 trucks for C&D (construction and demolition) and vegetation debris
3 trucks for HHW (hazardous household waste)
2 semitrailers for haul-outs from the DMS (debris management site)
5 bucket trucks for cut and toss
3 trucks for large appliances
1 truck for environmental waste

Also, Copley has arranged a street sweeper to come around to try and remove nails, etc… in the streets. Please reach out (as many of you have) if you have questions that I can help you with.
