Huge thanks to every volunteer, member, and candidate who showed up to our Postcarding Party and Ice Cream Social and put pen to cardstock. This is what the work looks like (and it tastes like ice cream).

We braved the heat to celebrate Flag Day with our Pinellas County Democrats and candidates. With a special Flag Day ballot and surrounded by friends, we paid respect to our veterans and the democracy we all enjoy. Proud to work alongside all these patriots.

Ten years ago today, 49 lives were taken at Pulse in Orlando in an act of hatred targeting the LGBTQ+ community.

A decade later, we continue to remember and honor the lives, love, and joy they brought into this world. We also honor the survivors whose courage and resilience continue to inspire us, and recognize the strength and unity that emerged in the face of unimaginable heartbreak.

Today, we invite our community to join St Pete Pride, Justice Over Everything, Contigo Fund, and the Democratic Hispanic Caucus of Pinellas County at the former Progressive Pride Street Mural on Central Ave at 2 p.m. for a special Pulse remembrance event. Together, we will gather in reflection and solidarity.

Their light lives on. Their legacy endures. And our fight continues.

Tuesday evening did nothing to quiet the rumor that the Hispanic Caucus is the most fun you can have engaging in Democracy! We put the “social” in Ice Cream Social, and the ice cream in our selves at our postcarding party this week. Thank you to all of the volunteers and candidates who came out to help us send vote-by-mail reminders to Latino voters in Pinellas.
