This week, our department successfully completed Strategic Planning sessions focused on shaping the future of our organization and the service we provide to our community.

The process brought together internal personnel, community partners, and key stakeholders to collaborate, share perspectives, and help identify priorities and goals for the years ahead.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Center for Public Safety Excellence for facilitating these important discussions and helping guide a productive planning process.

Together, we remain committed to continuous improvement, organizational excellence, and providing the highest level of service to our community.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue delivers service through four core program areas: Prevention, Rescue, Suppression, and Training. Our Excellence Awards recognize personnel who consistently demonstrate outstanding professionalism and performance in the line of duty.

In March 2026, crews from Medic 7, Truck 4, LR 13, and Sunstar Paramedics responded to a patient experiencing an ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). From arrival, crews operated in seamless coordinationโ€”rapidly assessing the patient, initiating cardiac monitoring, and delivering critical pre-hospital care.

Medic 7 was dispatched at 4:14 PM and declared a STEMI alert at 4:23 PMโ€”less than 10 minutes after dispatch. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿš‘

Advanced care continued en route, with clear communication to the receiving hospital ensuring cardiac specialists were prepared upon arrival. Their calm, focused response set the tone for a smooth transition of care to Emergency Department and Cardiac Cath Lab teams at St. Anthonyโ€™s Hospital. โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅ

This response exemplifies the Out-of-Hospital Chain of Survivalโ€”early recognition, rapid activation of 9-1-1, and high-quality care. The patient and his family later visited Fire Station 7 to personally thank the crews, a powerful reminder of the impact of their work.

๐Ÿš’ Yesterday afternoon, firefighters responded to a residential structure fire, encountering heavy flames coming from multiple sides of the home upon arrival.

Crews acted immediately, launching an aggressive fire attack to bring the situation under control and protect nearby residences. Thanks to their quick and coordinated efforts, the fire was prevented from spreading further.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. ๐Ÿ”ฅ
