๐Ÿšจ Hurricane & Fire Safety Preparedness Workshop ๐Ÿšจ

This past Saturday, Fire Rescue Chief Watts and Emergency Management Manager Amber Boulding had the opportunity to join local interfaith leaders at the Hurricane Preparedness Workshop hosted by Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church.

During the workshop, they shared important information on hurricane and fire safety, including how individuals, families, and faith-based organizations can prepare before, during, and after a storm. Topics included emergency planning, disaster readiness, fire response operations, and ways interfaith leaders can help keep their congregations and communities safe during emergencies.

We appreciate the opportunity to partner with our faith-based community and strengthen preparedness efforts across our city. By working together, we can build more resilient communities and ensure everyone is ready when disaster strikes.

Our Peer Support K9s, Brady and Shadow, recently stopped by to visit our friends at St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation-Healthy St. Pete. From tail wags to belly rubs, these therapy pups enjoyed connecting with City teammates and sharing a little extra joy along the way.

Brady and Shadow had a great time at the First Annual First Responder Therapy K-9 Conference in Sebring, FL!

Alongside their handlers, Lt. Jon Blinkey and Lt. Rob Neuberger, they help support the mental health, wellness, and peer support of our first responders every day.

They enjoyed connecting with therapy K-9 teams, first responders, and new furry friends from across the state while learning more about the important role these programs play in supporting those who serve.

Behind every emergency response is a dedicated team working hard to keep our apparatus and vehicles ready to roll. From routine maintenance to unexpected repairs, our Fleet Maintenance Team plays a critical role in helping us serve the community safely and efficiently.

To recognize their hard work and dedication during National Automotive Service Professional Week, Deputy Chief Ciskoski and members of Senior Staff stopped by with coffee and donuts as a small token of appreciation.

โฐ The deadline to apply is TOMORROW, June 9!

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue's Camp Ignite is a free, three-day camp for girls ages 12โ€“17 designed to inspire the next generation of firefighters and emergency responders.

Participants will get hands-on experience with fire hose operations, vehicle extrication, rope rescue drills, CPR certification, team-building activities, and moreโ€”all led by St. Petersburg Fire Rescue personnel.
