SHOT SHOW 2022 WRAP
It was a very constructive Shot Show for Kinetic Tactical Training Solutions LLC in our Active Shooter/Hostile Event Response (ASHER) mission: Saving lives through strategic focus.

To our general public, what does that mean?

*We assist law enforcement agencies in establishing disciplined initiative in officers, which facilitates problem solving decision making in high stress, high risk environments in moments where orders and direction are not readily available.

We provide a doctrine of smaller elements with shorter span of control in order to facilitate speed and agility in tactical application.

We provide proven training doctrine that focuses on leader led training, frequency in training, training in the reality of everyday work, or train as you work, and training together at multiple echelons to include regionally.

If you are interested in learning more about what we can do for your law enforcement agency, reach out to me at [email protected].

A U.S. Air Force University staff study in 1948 defined military doctrine functionally as “those concepts, principles, policies, tactics, techniques, practices, and procedures which are essential to efficiency in organizing, training, equipping, and employing its tactical and service units.”

Active Shooter Small Unit Doctrine (ASSUD) was developed from the historic study of response by law enforcement to active shooter incidence, terror attacks, and the US Army infantry squad development and how it compliments and differs from law enforcement needs. Those findings were utilized to develop tactics, techniques and procedures, and organization, training and employment of law enforcement patrol units to neutralize the full spectrum of threat from lone wolf to coordinated attacks.

Command Influence on Officer Initiative and Decisiveness

An article, (“Sergeant fired for inaction while kids were slaughtered in Parkland rehired with backup pay”) was posted on LinkedIn and drew many responses from LinkedIn members. The article was about a Sgt, who was fired over the lack of response to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting, was now being reinstated with full back pay and seniority intact. In short, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) had been found to violate the Sgt’s Constitutional due process rights and improperly terminated him. The majority of the responses focused on the key figure, the disgraced Sgt. I posted a response to address the misplaced focus of attention on the Sgt. “We are putting the cart before the horse. The lack of action was a regional failure. That’s a leadership issue. Agencies are responsible for hiring, training, guidance and inspiration. Lack of initiative appears have been an institutionally induced condition”. This article attempts to explain what I was commenting on in the short LinkedIn response.
