BIG NEWS! Governor Pritzker recently announced award recipients for the Regional Site Readiness Grant Program. These funds are to be used to develop site plans/studies or to support capital infrastructure improvements. Two local communities, Vandalia and Effingham, were both awarded $3,000,000 each for their projects. The City of Effingham will be using their funds to install water, sewer, and road extensions at a 150-acre site. Vandalia will be making road and water improvements at a 97-acre site within their industrial park. Both projects are major investments in our local economy. Congratulations to all involved!

Three SCIRPDC staff members have just returned from the Midwest Community Development Institute. They learned plenty over their four day courses and are excited to put new ideas into practice!

We are still accepting letters of support for the City of Salem's food truck park grant application! Drop off locations are at Salem City Hall and the SCIRPDC office. Letters may also be emailed to [email protected].

Support our food truck park by writing a letter of support. More support means our chances our being awarded the Rebuild Downtowns and Main Streets Capital Grant (RDMS) are better! If you'd like to write a letter of support, please do and submit it to City Hall or South Central Illinois Regional Planning & Development Commission.

If you would like to see a food truck park in Salem, please drop off a letter of support to either Salem City Hall or the SCIRPDC office. Community support is vital in applying for the Rebuild Downtowns grant!

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. So as we draw up plans for the food truck park here in Salem, we are pulling a lot of inspiration from the FLOCK Food Truck Park & Bar in Alton, IL. If you'd like to write a letter of support, please do and submit it to City Hall or South Central Illinois Regional Planning & Development Commission.

We are excited to work with the City of Salem on an RDMS grant application! If any residents, business owners, organizations, or community leaders wish to voice their support, letters can be dropped off at Salem City Hall or the SCIRPDC office.

We are going to be partnering with SCIRPDC to apply for the Rebuild Downtowns and Main Streets Capital Grant (RDMS). We have a food truck park in mind. If you'd like to write a letter of support, please do and submit it to City Hall or SCIRPDC.
