25th anniversary of 9/11 remembered tonight at the Centralia football game.

Tonight at the Centralia home football game, I was honored to be joined by several other First Responders in the Centralia area. Tonight we stood in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of 9/11. We remember all those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on that day.
On the 25th of this month, I will do the same at the Salem home football game and I hope to see you there.
We are so blessed to have all our 1st Responders! God bless each of them

New feature added to this app

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office mobile app has been updated to include a new feature.
This update introduces an “Extra Patrol” tab, as shown in the attached image. If you are planning a vacation or anticipate being away from your residence or property, you may use this feature to notify our office of your departure and return dates. Upon request, deputies will provide additional patrols of your location during your absence.
We encourage you to take advantage of this service to help enhance the safety and security of your property.

US Highway 50 remains closed until further notice due to a large church fire in town Sandoval. Please use alternate route. Also, please use caution between Odin and Sandoval as water shuttles with fire trucks are taking place to the fire scene.

Congratulations Centralia Police Det. Nick Easley!

CPD would like to congratulate Det. Nick Easley for completing the criteria to receive his Tactical Patrol Officer (TPO) certificate and pin. The Illinois Tactical Officers Association’s (ITOA) TPO Program is a training and recognition initiative that provides training in a core group of tactical skill sets that will better prepare officers when confronted with unexpected, on-going violent criminal events and active threat situations. The skills learned enhance their daily survivability and tactical capabilities.
