Fentanyl and other synthetic opioids are the most common drugs involved in overdose deaths. Even in small doses, it can be deadly. Over 150 people die every day from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl.

The Salem County Municipal Alliance would like to take a moment and recognize this year's 2023 Salem County Municipal Alliance Volunteer of the Year, Jennie Curran!

Jennie is a member of the Oldmans Twp. Municipal Alliance & guidance counselor at Oldmans Twp. School. Jennie Curran has displayed a great commitment to the Oldmans Municipal Alliance since taking over the position in September of 2021. She goes out of her way to ensure that the students, community and families of Oldman’s Twp. have opportunities to connect and have prevention education available to them.
Jennie will be honored GCADA Sitewide Volunteer of the Year Ceremony on December 12, 2023. Please help us in congratulating Jennie in all her hard work and dedication she has given our community over the years.

This past Fall, the Salem County Municipal Alliance hosted a Prevention Coloring Book Art contest open to all Salem County students in grades K through 5. Students throughout the county submitted many wonderful art drawings, making it difficult to choose just a few to feature in our coloring book. This coloring book will be released in early 2024. Each of our winners will receive a loaded swag bag and a copy of the coloring book. Thank you to all who entered. Take a look at the winning art below and feel free to share!

The Salem County Municipal Alliance would like to take a moment and recognize this year's 2022 Salem County Municipal Alliance Volunteer of the Year, Gail Slaughter!

Gail is a member of the Salem City Municipal Alliance & a lifelong resident of Salem County. Gail has made significant and impactful contributions to her community & to Salem City throughout her life. She has also donated her time and efforts to organizations such as the Salem City Midget Football, Salem City Council, and Stand Up for Salem.

Gail will be honored at the GCADA Sitewide Volunteer of the Year Ceremony on December 13, 2022. Please help us in congratulating Gail in all her hard work and dedication she has given our community over the years.

On the week of October 24- October 28, 2022, some of our Salem County Municipal Alliance schools participated in Red Ribbon Week which is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness campaign.

Today, we highlight Mannington Twp. School & their participation in Red Ribbon Week by holding theme days such as "You have the Power" wear a superhero shirt day, "Check yourself before you wreck yourself" wear Flannel Clothing Day, & "Your Future is Bright" wear Neon and Tie-Dyed, & Pajama Day.
