✨One year adoption update!✨

Here's what Heidi's owner had to say about this sweet girl❤...

In celebration of our adoption anniversary with Heidi (Formerly known as Doty) here’s a ONE YEAR update,

Heidi is a completely different dog than the one I picked up scared and lost that day in the shelter. She’s bloomed and found her family in our home, with her doggy brother and sister. She’s extremely bonded with our other rescue walker, and they are two peas in a pod!

She LOVES to run, and could out-play most dogs. She’s the friendliest girl, and loves all dogs and people. Her favorite things are her brother, fruit, playtime, car rides, and cuddles.

Bringing home a new dog is exciting, but the first few weeks can set the tone for everything that follows. 🐾

Our New Adopter Orientation is designed to help families understand what their new dog may be experiencing, what they actually need during the adjustment period, and how to avoid some of the most common mistakes we see after adoption. We’ll talk about building trust, creating healthy routines, setting realistic expectations, and helping your new family member settle into their home successfully.

This class is free for recent adopters through Salem Animal Shelter Va and Angels of Assisi

Humans only, leave your new pup at home!
