💦Did you know scuba divers actually make up around half of our volunteers at V.I.P. Day? They usually pull about a hundred pounds of trash out of the lake every year on V.I.P. Day and we are so grateful for their contributions.

Last year alone, the The Scuba Shop had three boats of divers go out and dive to retrieve trash!

Be sure to come out and help us clean up Lake Jocassee on Saturday, September 12th! The Scuba Shop is sending out divers at 9 am and 3 pm.

🗑**NEXT SATURDAY: V.I.P. Day at Devils Fork State Park!**🗑

This is one of our biggest events of the year and we want you to be a part of it!

V.I.P. Day is our annual collaborative litter pickup at Devils Fork State Park involving divers, hikers, and boaters. Hundreds of volunteers turn out annually to to collect a significant amount of litter from Devils Fork State Park and Lake Jocassee.

Come to the Day Use/Picnic area of Devils Fork State Park on Lake Jocassee between 9:00 - 10:00 AM to sign in, get assignments, and pick up supplies. FOJ will provide snacks, water, trash bags, and rubber gloves.

You do not need to pay the park entry fee when you volunteer for this event.

The Jocassee Gorges are home to one of the highest concentrations of black bears in South Carolina. They are excellent swimmers and climbers and you may get lucky enough to see one while exploring this special place.

Don't feed bears and keep your distance. 🐻

We hope you can join us for BOTH V.I.P. Day and our BBQ Fundraiser right after at Jocassee Valley Brewing Company - Salem, SC!

After a very busy summer, the shoreline of Lake Jocassee, the beach area, day use spots, and underwater near the beach and campground all need a lot of cleanup. Please join us to clean it up and then head to the brewery for our BBQ fundraiser.

Come out to the lake to count pollinators and learn about native plants with FOLKS, Oconee County 4-H, and South Cove County Park. Join us at South Cove for a drop-in-style event to help with the Great Southeast Pollinator Census.

This FREE interactive program will include several stations hosted by Oconee County 4-H, South Cove County Park, and FOLKS, plus an opportunity to get hands-on in nature and help us count pollinators at the native plant garden. Afterwards, stick around to enjoy the park and the beautiful views of Lake Keowee.
