Welcome back, UE Tigers! We have a busy week and month ahead of us. Here are a few reminders:

🌻 Order forms for mums, sunflowers, and celosias went home Friday. Order forms and money are due Sept 9. Pick up will be Sept 15 from 4:30-6:30 pm.
✏️ There will be a Title informational meeting on Thursday, Sept 3rd at 3:15 in the UE Library. We appreciate your input and would love to see you there!
📚 There is a SUE PIE (Salem Upper Elementary Partners in Education) meeting on Thursday, Sept 3rd at 6:00 in the UE Library.
📸 Picture day is Friday, Sept 4th!

Parents, we want to communicate our pickup procedures to try and eliminate some things we saw last week. On the north end where first and second grade pickups are we have two sides. On the east side of the doors, is where parents walking up need to stay. If your child is getting loaded into a car, please remain in your car in the car lane. Those students will be on the west side of the doors. We will not send students across traffic. If you walk up to get your child, you must walk all the way up to the grass. On the circle drive with our older students, please pull all the way up to get your student. If you are walking up to get them, you need to walk up to the circle drive. They should not be running down to the north lot without a guardian. Students must remain supervised by school staff until we pass them off to parents.

We wanted to notify you that a single round of am******on was found in a classroom at Salem Upper Elementary. Law enforcement has been notified and this has been thoroughly investigated. We are making this post to keep you informed but also reassure you that there is not believed to be any threat to the school or anyone in it.

We’re excited to roll out a new tool that will simplify how we communicate with you: Connect! Connect offers a secure, safe, two-way messaging platform that makes it easier to stay connected with Salem R-80 staff. You will also be added to Rooms, where staff members can share announcements and important updates.

Sign in today! Parents and students can access Connect through the Salem R-80 app or by visiting salemr80.org and clicking the “Sign In” button in the upper-right corner. Students will sign in using Google Single Sign-On, while parents can sign in using their cell phone number or email address.

You can also receive notifications when a new message is sent to you via text message from 27806, even if you haven’t downloaded the Salem R-80 app.

Please note, Connect will become our primary method of communication for interactions between staff, coaches, teachers, students, and families.

Class lists have been completed and are posted on the exterior doors of Upper Elementary. If you did not register your child, they will not appear on a list and will not be placed in a class until registration is completed. Open House is Monday, August 24th from 5:30-7:00! See you then!
