Happy to support and celebrate the Marshall Islands Constitution Day Celebration here in La Grande, Oregon.

This year marks 47 years of the Marshall Islands Constitution (1979–2026). This celebration brings community together through partnership, sports, culture, and connection, while honoring the strength, history, and resilience of the Marshallese people.

As part of the broader COFA community, we also celebrate the spirit of solidarity among the people of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. Our shared connections remind us of the importance of culture, unity, and moving forward together.

Wishing all Marshallese communities here in Eastern Oregon, across the United States, in the Marshall Islands, and everywhere a Happy Constitution Day.

LATE LATE POST: The CANN board and team have been busy these past few months providing outreach and support to our COFA communities through legislative advocacy, education, and grassroots community work. Our goal is to help our people build knowledge, access resources, and navigate barriers with confidence.

Special thanks to team member Magdalene Heno Ellis for visiting our Palauan community in California to share educational outreach on healthcare access and Know Your Rights information.

We also continue to uplift an important reminder: Citizens from the Marshall Islands, Palau, and the Federated States of Micronesia can legally live, study, and work in the United States under the Compacts of Free Association as nonimmigrants without visas. In 2024, federal legislation restored full access to public benefits for COFA migrants living in the United States. We are proud to continue this work in service to our communities.
