The State Strategies Committee on Aerospace within the National Lieutenant Governors Association meeting has been a very informative and productive forum for discussion how we accelerate space-centric economic development.

More soon, but for now imagine the possibilities of a global rapid transit network utilizing space.

You'll see more activity on curb ramps in our community soon

ODOT crews have been working on ADA curb ramps in Monmouth and Independence to improve accessibility for everyone.

Crews are demoing and installing curb ramps throughout the project area in your community. Please remember to watch for workers and drive with caution through the area.

You'll still see crews working on curb ramps on several highways throughout Northwest Oregon, the Willamette Valley and other highways around Oregon.

If you're going through the work zone, expect:

• Crews working during the day, Monday through Thursday.
• Occasional work at night or on Fridays as needed.
• Sidewalk and curb ramp closures. Please follow the posted pedestrian detour routes to the nearest available crosswalk.
• Lane shifts as needed.
• Shoulder and lane closures as needed.
• Flaggers directing traffic as needed.
• Businesses near the corners we're working on to remain open during construction.
• Delays and construction noise – saw cutting can be loud!

Beginning Monday, June 1, visitors entering the Polk County Courthouse in Dallas will go through a new security screening process at the main entrance. If you have business at the courthouse, please plan ahead and allow extra time for entry

The added screening measures are intended to improve safety for courthouse staff, visitors, and the public.

Thank you to our local Judicial Department and Polk County staff for their continued work to keep public spaces safe and accessible for everyone.

Dallas, OR — Beginning June 1st, visitors to the Polk County Courthouse will notice something has changed: they will now go through security screening before entering. The new security measures are the result of a collaborative effort by the court, the Oregon Judicial Department (OJD) Marshal’s ...

This Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our great nation.

From the Oregon State Capitol to the outdoor interactive Living Vietnam Memorial at Restlawn Memory Gardens, my team and I are reminded that every name, every story, and every sacrifice carries a story and a legacy that lives on.

Together, we pause in remembrance, reflect with gratitude, and pay tribute to those who never made it home.

We should never forget their courage, their service, and the freedoms they helped protect.

After my West Salem Town Hall (at the West Salem Library) earlier this evening, I had time to stop by the Independence City Budget Committee deliberations (pics below).

I’m grateful to live in a community (Independence, Monmouth, and Salem area), where people show up to keep faith with our shared civic responsibilities.

The town hall was fun, the budget committee a bit more froggy (and productive), but all of it part of keeping our Republic moving forward.

Thank you to all who participated.
