Just a reminder that the Great Utah Shake Out is on April 21, 2016. If you haven't registered your family or organization, you still have time. The Shakeout website has very good information about keeping your family safe and prepared before, during and after an earthquake. http://shakeout.org/utah/

Salem City would like to thank the countless volunteers that came together to help our community during the canal breach. The Highline Canal will be empty for several days while crews work to repair the damage. Please follow the news feed on www.salemcity.org for updates on water usage.

Recently a number of ducks were found sickened or dead in or around Salem Pond. Water samples were taken and duck tissues were biopsied. Yesterday at our monthly Emergency Management meeting we discussed earthquake preparedness. The Emergency Management Committee encourages Salem City residents to have a family plan in the event of an earthquake. www.beready.utah.gov has good information regarding earthquake preparedness.
