Garten Services

Garten Services Garten Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides jobs for over 500 adults with disabilities in Oregon's Willamette Valley each year.

Through close relationships with local area businesses and Garten's own business enterprises, we recruit, train and place skilled workers with disabilities into our community's workforce. We help people with developmental disabilities and long-term mental illness become contributing taxpayers rather than dependents on social service programs. This frees up ever-diminishing social service dollars t

o be used in the support of higher-need individuals. At Garten, we augment community placements with employment opportunities in our own fee-for-services professional enterprises: confidential document shredding, commercial laundry, custodial, electronics refurbishing and recycling, mail services, recycling, hand packaging & assembly, and order fulfillment. We also provide a day activities program for seniors with disabilities who have aged out of the work force, helping them remain physically, socially and intellectually active—and engaged in their community.

A special thank you to our incredible Catalyst and Champion Tier sponsors who have made Sip & Stroll Salem 2026 possible.

Since we first spoke with DSP Connections, Inc., they have gone above and beyond to support this year's event. Their commitment to creating opportunities for people with disabilities aligns closely with Garten's mission, and we're proud to partner with an organization that shares our vision for a more inclusive community.

We'd also like to recognize our Champion Sponsors, OnPoint Community Credit Union and Commercial Business Furniture. Their generosity and investment in our community have truly helped make Sip & Stroll into a truly special event.

Every sponsorship brings us one step closer to purchasing a new wheelchair-accessible van that will provide reliable transportation for individuals with disabilities throughout our region.

Thank you for helping Garten move forward.

This Memorial Day, we honor the sacrifices made by those who served our country and protected the freedoms we often take for granted. Their courage and dedication made it possible for us to dream, grow, learn, love, and build stronger communities together.

Today, we remember and thank the brave individuals who gave so much in service to others.

All Garten offices will be closed on May 25, 2026, in honor of Memorial Day.

A ride may seem simple. But for many people with disabilities, it can mean the difference between isolation and opportunity.

At Garten Services, we see every day how accessible transportation creates independence, connection, and access to essential services, especially in rural communities where support can already feel out of reach.

This year, proceeds from Sip & Stroll Salem will help us move closer to purchasing a new wheelchair accessible van so we can continue expanding transportation services for the people who rely on them most.

Accessible transportation is expensive, but the impact is life-changing.

Join us for an evening of local wine, food, community, and purpose, and help move Garten forward one ride at a time. Tickets are on sale now.

Supportive workplaces create more good days, together.

Mental health matters in every workplace, and for many people with disabilities, having a safe, understanding, and inclusive environment can make a meaningful difference.

Asking for help is not a weakness.

Taking care of your mental health is not something to hide.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re helping reduce stigma by reminding our community that it’s okay to ask for help and okay to support one another through difficult days.

Because everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported at work.

Transportation should never be the reason someone misses out support. For many people with disabilities living in rural Oregon communities, accessible transportation is the key that makes employment, independence, and community involvement possible.

This year, every Sip & Stroll Salem ticket helps move that mission forward. Proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing a wheelchair accessible van that will allow Garten to better support individuals across rural communities.

These vehicles come at a high cost, but the impact is life-changing. A ride can mean access to work, programs, friendships, and greater independence.

So grab your friends, enjoy a night out, and be part of something bigger. Your attendance at Sip & Stroll helps create opportunities and move Garten forward for people with disabilities throughout our community.

We asked Garten employees one simple question: what makes you feel happy?

Everyone has their own things they love. Connection, purpose, the beach, and the people around them.

For Mental Health Awareness Month, we are highlighting the everyday things that help build more good days, together. Because mental health is for everyone. It is something we shape in the spaces we work, support, and show up for each other.

Watch, listen, and see what makes our team feel their best.

“More Good Days, Together,” reminds us that mental health is not something we navigate alone.

For Mental Health Awareness Month, we believe community, connection, purpose, and support can make a meaningful difference in creating more good days for everyone. Whether a good day means feeling calm, supported, understood, or simply getting through a difficult moment, every experience matters in the Garten community.

Mental health affects people of all abilities, backgrounds, and walks of life. This month, we encourage open conversations, compassion without judgment, and checking in on one another. Together, we can help turn silence into connection and create a community where people feel seen, valued, and supported.
