Do Not Disturb can be a permanent condition--Silence your phone or put it in the backseat or glove compartment when driving.

Remember, it's illegal to use your phone while driving in Oregon unless it's in hands-free mode. Drivers under 18 cannot use any device while driving, hands-free or not.

🚧ROAD CLOSURE🚧

French Prairie Rd NE is closed to through traffic between Highway 219 NE and River Road NE from mid-August through November for a bridge replacement project.

Local access will be maintained during construction, but because the bridge is being replaced you will not be able to cross it from either direction. Local and emergency vehicles, as well as through traffic, are required to use the approved detour using Highway 219 and River Road.

Walking is a great way to burn off some extra energy before the school day starts! Remember to walk facing traffic, cross at crosswalks, and never cross between cars.

Drivers should remember to check for pedestrians before turning on red (or green!) and to slow down in school zones between 7-5PM even if there's no flashing lights.

Even if no one in your household is going back to school, it's a good idea to review the rules around school zones.

🚸Not all school zones have flashing lights, so be extra careful when approaching them.
🚸If you don't know if school is in session, slow down!
🚸Always watch for bikers and walkers and try to anticipate their actions.
🚸Don't multitask while driving.

If there is a grass median or other barrier between your lanes and a stopped school bus, you do not have to stop.

Is your teen driving themselves to school for the first time this year?

Set a good example for the future drivers in your life by always wearing your seatbelt. Never use your phone while in the car.

Use focus or do not disturb features to silence alerts or just put it in the glove compartment or backseat while driving.

Avoid multitasking while driving, like eating, drinking or anything else that takes your eyes off the road.

When a bus has its red flashing lights on and the stop sign is out, traffic going both directions must stop.

Stop at least 10 feet away from the bus to be sure that all children are out of the street before you begin moving.
