Masons Cove Volunteer Fire Department We are a volunteer fire department providing services to the Masons Cove community, and surrounding areas.

With the probable winter weather coming into our area beginning in the next couple of hours, we would like to remind everyone of a few things.
1. Don't go out unless it is absolutely necessary. It is not worth your life.
2. Make sure you have plenty of emergency supplies ready in case of power outages, etc.
3. Be careful with wood stoves, or other alternate means of warmth.
If you find that you are having an absolute emergency, do not hesitate to call 911. It may take us a little bit of extra time to get there, but we will get there.
Also, any power outages should be reported to your respectful power company, either AEP or Craig/Botetourt.
The Masons Cove Volunteer Fire Department hopes everyone stays safe, and enjoy the snow.

A little FYI from RCFRD.

With lots of rainfall potentially headed our way, it’s important to communicate flood safety tips that could save you and your loved ones! 🌊

❗️Turn around, DON’T DROWN: Never walk, swim, or drive through flood waters. It only takes SIX INCHES of water to sweep someone away!

❗️If possible, get to higher ground: flood waters can rise within minutes, so it’s important to find higher ground if in a major flood zone.

❗️Stay tuned in to local news and other media to keep informed. Be sure to put together an emergency kit with food, medicine, and water!

Ahhhhh the changes in the air. The temperature is starting to go down...especially at night. You know what that means??? Yep...you guessed it...time to start firing up those wood stoves and fire places. (If you haven't already) Before you do, make sure your chimneys and flues are clean and in good condition. Also make sure ashes are completely cooled before disposing of them.

It has come to our attention that there may be some flooded roads in the area. We want to remind you if you come across a flooded road, DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH IT. Turn around, don't drown!!!
