Tomorrow is a great program at Bancroft Public Library. We cannot wait to host It's Revolutionary! A kids' program on stories, songs, and games from the Revolutionary War era. The program is targeted for 2nd to 7th graders, but younger and older kids are welcome to attend as well.

There are still spots available, so please feel free to just drop by tomorrow at 1:00 pm!

Caffe Lena on the Road returns to Salem this year! Most of the programs will be at the Historic Salem Courthouse Community Center, but one program will be held at Bancroft on Wednesday, May 27. We hope you can join us for the pizza luncheon at noon and/or come for the music at 1:00pm.

Bancroft Public Library is taking part in the DEC's I Bird NY Challenge.

The challenge is easy to do, and adults or kids or welcome to take part. The gist of the challenge is to find and write down ten birds you see (whether it be on a walk, hike, or just sitting in your backyard).

Participants who successfully complete this fun challenge will be awarded a commemorative patch, completion certificate, and be entered into a drawing for great birding prizes!*

The challenge is open from March 1 through November 1, open to participants of all ages and abilities. Participants may also earn a bonus entry into the prize giveaway by submitting a photo documenting their experience completing the I BIRD NY Challenge.

Please, check out the library’s birding backpack (at the circulation desk) to help you on your quest! The backpack was provided by Southern Adirondack Audubon Society.

The next Bancroft Book Club meets the first Thursday in June. Theo of Golden is the book and we have already heard such good reviews on it from other people who have read it. We hope that you can join in the discussion on June 4th at 2:00 pm.

The books selected for reading at this club are determined by the book club members and do not necessarily represent the views of the Bancroft Public Library.

This coming Saturday (May 16), bring your kids down to the library to learn a little about the Revolutionary War. Debi Craig and Dorothea Craig Casey will be leading this awesome class on games, songs, and stories from the Revolutionary War. Program is best-suited for 2nd to 7th grades, but older and younger kids are welcome too!

Do you want a fun summer reading challenge AND do you like pizza? Then try Book It! Summer of Stories.

Parents, when you enroll your children and track their summer reading progress, you can claim a free Personal Pan Pizza at Pizza Hut.

This is not a program through Bancroft Public Library, but rather through Book It!

We thought we would put it out there to those of you who like pizza and would like to tie in a summer reading challenge with a free personal pizza.
