Career clerks as a reminder, if there is an office you THINK you might want to transfer to, you need to go to e-Reassign now and apply for that office. If down the road a position is offered to you and you have changed your mind, you can always withdraw. However, once it is posted you could be too late to apply as there are many factors to filling residual vacancies and one level is first come first served, meaning the first person applying. Depending on where they are in the pecking order, having you name on the list for a while could make all the difference.

Remember when Carbondale, Centralia, Mt. Vernon, and Effingham have vacancies they are full-time regular positions, not PTF positions. Something to consider.

If you need change for your drawer
NEVER DO IT OFF THE CLOCK!
1.) Ask your Postmaster to go get it....if they wont...
2.) Let them know you are going to the Bank to get change. LOCK UP and put a sign on the door stating "Be Right Back" and go get it ON THE CLOCK.
3.) Last choice... and I would not do this....bring change to work the next day that you got with your own money.

The quickest way to get fired is to take $20 with you when you go home to bring back $20 in ones and quarters the next day. I can guarantee you Postal Inspectors will look at it as stealing postal funds.

If your Postmaster is telling you to take money home and bring back change the next day call me now!

So don't let the Postal Service guilt you into covering for their poor staffing. You're getting one paycheck, so never feel you're obligated to take on the workload of more than one employee....
