🎉 What an AMAZING End-of-Year BBQ! 🎉

Our annual BBQ is one of our favorite traditions because it brings our entire community together and gives us a chance to celebrate the clients we are so honored to serve. ❤️

The work we do can be heavy, which makes days like this so meaningful. Watching our clients laugh, share a meal, dance, and connect with staff, leadership, and one another is a beautiful reminder that community is at the heart of everything we do.

A huge shoutout to our Kitchen Manager Sallena for her first year running our food program and our annual BBQ — everything was delicious! 👏

Thank you to our incredible team for showing up every day with compassion, kindness, and a commitment to our mission.
Most of all, thank you to our clients for sharing this day with us and allowing us to be part of your community.

Clients at our Salem campus donned safety vests, trash bags, and litter pickers for a community clean up event this month. Together, they spent the day making the neighborhood a little more beautiful and enjoyed a pizza party afterward. 🌞 🌳 🗑️

We had lots to celebrate at River House this month, so we threw a party! One client celebrated a birthday 🎂 We hope your special day was filled with happiness, laughter, and wonderful memories.

Another client celebrated getting housing! We are so happy for you as you begin this exciting chapter in your new home. Wishing you happiness success, and many beautiful memories ahead 🏡

Musicians Audi and Peter Souza dazzled at Lifebridge's Grace Center in Gloucester last week with a concert of sea shanties. The event was organized by Tina and Bob Maeder. Rep. Dru Tarr, Nora Casadei from Beauport Hospitality Group, and Art of Lunch organizer Nina Goodick cooked and served a dinner sponsored by the Art of Lunch, Cape Ann Museum, and Together Gloucester, Inc. Clients and guests enjoyed baked haddock, a garden salad, and cookies while listening to the music.

Thank you to the students of Malden Catholic School for stopping by River House! They participated during daily chore time and then played bingo with the clients. We love seeing young people involved in their community!

River House is the North Shore's only women's shelter, giving women experiencing homelessness the chance to heal, connect, and find stability.

Students Emily Strojny and Emily Brayton from Endicott's College's accelerated nursing program did a wonderful job deep cleaning and organizing our Salem kitchen pantry!

The Salem campus kitchen serves 2-3 free community meals every day to dozens of people experiencing food insecurity on the North Shore. Keeping the pantry well organized and clean is essential to prevent food waste and pests.

"Recently, one of my residents asked me to be part of her meeting with a Job Corps recruiter," says Yari Acevedo, Lifebridge's River House director. "It was a pleasure to be included in that meeting because it showed me that my presence meant something to her and helped her feel confident as she made important decisions about her future."

The main purpose of the phone meeting was to explore the client's different job training options. During the meeting, she enrolled in two training programs, and she will also have the opportunity to complete her GED at the same time.

At the beginning she was looking into a certified nursing assistant (CNA) training. However, she changed her mind and picked two different programs that she felt more confident about. "She chose programs she wouldn't feel rushed through," says Acevedo.

"Moments like these are the greatest rewards of the work we do," Acevedo continues. "Knowing that our support can help someone take an important step toward a better future is incredibly meaningful, and it reminds me that even a single moment can make a lasting difference."

This is just one example of case management services at Lifebridge. Case managers are experienced professionals who partner with you on your journey to stability, help you navigate complicated systems, and advocate on your behalf when needed. No matter what your priorities are, a Lifebridge case manager will work with you to understand your unique goals and develop an individualized action plan that plays to your strengths.
