Last month, OCE’s garment team had the opportunity to collaborate with an outside clothing company on the development of a new product. Partnerships like this strengthen community connections while giving program participants meaningful, real‑world experience.
Several participants shared how valuable the project was; citing opportunities to problem-solve alongside industry professionals, contribute design insights, and build communication skills that will support their success after release. Jonny described the collaboration as “an enjoyable experience that pushed my abilities and helped me grow,” while Kyle shared that the project “was challenging in a good way and gave me insight into how I can contribute to future employers.”
Staff noted how each team member rose to the challenge, showing adaptability, strong customer service, and a willingness to push their skills further. These collaborative projects are an important part of OCE’s mission: providing hands-on training, building confidence, and preparing individuals for future employment. We look forward to continuing partnerships that create growth for everyone involved.
