Support the Latine Changemaker Organizations in Oregon curriculum for students to learn about Immigrant Oregonians contributions to change for social, labor and immigrant justice.
OHS’s new Latine Changemaker Organizations in Oregon curriculum invites students to explore how Latine communities have shaped history. Designed for grades 2–4, students learn about the the community impact of five organizations: Pineros y Campesinos Unidos del Noroeste (PCUN), Colegio César Chávez, Milagro Theater, Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, and the Woodburn Fiesta Mexicana.
This unit aligns with the Oregon Social Science Standards and was developed to help students appreciate the heritage and rich histories of Latine communities in Oregon, connecting historical movements with present-day advocacy.
