Can you recycle it?

Answer in 3...2...1...

NO. Explosives and fireworks should NEVER go in the recycling cart. They are a danger to recycling and garbage truck workers and drivers.

To dispose of unwanted fireworks, soak them in water overnight, then double-bag them to help them stay saturated. The double-bagged, wet fireworks container can go in the garbage bin.

Unwanted explosives, weapons, or ammunition should never be thrown away in recycling or trash carts. Call local law enforcement to safely dispose of these items.

Gather the resources to be able to repair items when they break instead of throwing them out. If you repair something, you don't have to replace it!

There are tutorials for mending, basic electronic repair, patching and painting online for projects big and small. Creative spaces often have equipment and supplies you can borrow.

Learn basic repair skills from friends, family, and your community members.

We can REDUCE waste and save money by not throwing things away when they need basic repair. 😎
