Join the Oregon Child Support Program in observing National Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM) this May. This month helps raise awareness about how important mental health is for our overall well-being. Throughout the month, we encourage you to support individuals and communities who may need mental health assistance.
Taking care of your mental health is just as important as caring for your family’s daily needs. Here are some mental health resources to support parents and children.
FindSupport.gov helps individuals and families connect with mental health resources. Whether you need immediate help, long-term treatment, or want to better understand what you’re experiencing, FindSupport.gov can guide you to the right resources.
You can call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org if you or someone you know needs crisis support.
988 is a nationwide hotline that connects you to trained counselors who can help 24/7. People reach out for many reasons, including:
- Thoughts of su***de
- Mental health or substance use crises
- Emotional distress
- And other situations where support is needed (see reasons to connect)
The 988 Lifeline is a national network of over 200 local crisis centers. These centers offer support through calls, texts, or online chats any time of day, every day of the week.
