Storms will arrive later this afternoon. Some storms may be severe, however, the biggest threat to this area is high winds. A weather update will come in later this morning. More storms tomorrow and rain Wednesday will increase the flash flooding potential. Although it has been relatively dry, a sudden onset of heavy rain always creates flash flood concerns. The Salem Fire and Police Departments are presently responding to a significant spill of an unidentified substance at the intersection of State Road 56 and State Road 60, west of Salem, resulting in multiple lane closures. Travelers are advised to avoid the area entirely, as the roadway will remain closed for an extended period.

Reminder that the Knobstone 50 Race is scheduled for Saturday, 4/11/2026. The event will commence at Deam Lake and conclude at Delaney Park. Participants will cross several county roads, with the most notable crossing located on East State Road 56 near Shields Road (3 Lane Hill). Please exercise caution when approaching Knobstone crossings. Members from the Southern Indiana Search & Rescue, Indiana United Search & Rescue will be on standby to assist with any emergency incidents that may arise.
