lem Public Schools encourages interaction from Facebook users but is not responsible for comments or wall postings made by visitors to the page. We welcome your thoughts and comments and look forward to what you have to say. However, the district reserves the right, but assumes no obligation, to remove comments that are racist, sexist, abusive, profane, violent, obscene, spam, contain falsehoods or are wildly off-topic, or that libel, incite, threaten or make ad hominem attacks on students, employees, guests or other individuals. Naming specific employees or students in a negative way will not be allowed. The intent of these guidelines is not to keep any negative or critical information from being posted, but to protect the privacy and rights of our students and staff. We also do not permit messages selling products or promoting commercial or other ventures, but we do allow school fundraiser information from the schools in our District. Comments are also subject to Facebook’s Terms of Use and Code of Conduct policies, including the usage of real names and not Pseudonyms. Salem Public Schools asks that people making comments on the page show respect for their fellow users by ensuring the discussion remains civil, especially since Facebook allows individuals 13 and older to join. Remember that your name and photo will be seen next to your comments, visible to all visitors on the page. Facebook and Salem Public Schools encourage all users to utilize the “Report” links when they find abusive content. Facebook does not allow any information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have information posted on our page from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible and report that user to Facebook.
