Ended last week on a high note!
Watching car, after car, after car, drive in and park at Cascade had me wondering if I was going to have enough supplies, and that's not a bad feeling to have! Instead, I was amazed. Amazed that around 50 people spent Friday morning volunteering to litter pick, and be a positive presence in an area that needs help.
It really takes a village, and this is a good one to be a part of.

It started with "Hey Amanda, we pulled some thistle" and ended with "Hey Amanda, we pulled thistle AND ivy"! and I'm here for it. These are good kids, led by an awesome organization, out doing amazing things.
Thank you for spending your Saturday morning volunteering at Woodmansee Park. You're rockstars!

Today was way more than litter picking. Today was about getting out, meeting new people, and doing a little good for your community.
Every piece of garbage that is picked up, is one less that makes it to our waterways, in the bellies of our wildlife, or caught up in our community spaces. You made a difference today! Thank you all so much and I'm excited to see where we go in August.

Another feel good post to send you into the weekend 🐝
Solve came to town and supported a Pick It Up, Salem event and together, volunteers picked up roughly 600 pounds of garbage. Every event like this is a great step in the right direction for Cascade Park. Flowers are blooming, osprey are flying around, and folks were fishing. It was really great to see.
If you're looking for a new trail to explore, go check out Cascade and walk around Walter Wirth Lake. It's beautiful!

Another summer with the Boys & Girls Club has begun, and I am already speechless. This week has been one for the books.
Monday & Tuesday we were at Geer Park. They string trimmed, painted all of the tables, and planted flowers.
Wednesday, we were at Hoodview spreading bark, and painting tables. Thursday they were at Woodmansee, taking care of business on some trails, and I am in awe. A lot of them are familiar faces, so I know they work hard, but I still leave every event more and more impressed with their commitment to this community.
Enjoy the photos!

Windermere Heritage has been a community partner for a few years now, and each year they tackle a huge project.
This year, we finished the trail at Orchard Heights Park, and we couldn't be more thankful for their determination to see the project through.

I hope you get out to walk the freshly chipped path. It is a great way to beat the heat and walk in the shade.
