Flash Astronomy Night! Join us for a walk under Montauk's starry country skies Tuesday June 9 at 9:00. We will meet at the Naturalist's Cabin and walk the pleasant gravel loop beside Montauk lake. Telescope viewing included but if you have a good working pair of binoculars please bring those too.

Come experience some at one of our naturalist programs this weekend: 👇

👉Friday, June 5, 9:00pm: Montauk 101. Think you know the basic of Montauk from times past to today? This program has something to learn for any Montauk visitor, from 1 to 90 years. At the campground amphitheater.

👉Saturday, June 6, 9:00pm: Nature's Fireworks . Meet at the Montauk Spring parking lot for nature's very own light show. Wear sturdy shoes, and bring bug spray and a flashlight.

👉And don't forget, the historic Montauk Mill is open from 3:00-5:00pm on Friday & Saturday, June 5-6, and 10:30-12:30pm on Sunday, June 7.

👉The historic Montauk Mill will be open for tours from 3-5pm.
👉Learn all about the Noisy Nighttime: The Sounds of Frogs & Toads, beginning at 8:30pm at the campground amphitheater.

Saturday, May 30

👉 Take a walk through Montauk's colorful history on our Time Traveler Tour. Meet at the Stone Shelter at 10:00am and hear the story of Montauk and the people who lived here over 100 years ago.
👉The historic Montauk Mill will be open for tours from 3-5pm.
👉The worst flood at Montauk in recorded history will be the subject of the Montauk Flood Presentation, beginning at 8:30 pm in the campground amphitheater.

Today, we pause to remember and honor those heroes whose courage and commitment inspire us daily. We salute the brave individuals who gave everything for our freedom. We thank them for their service and thank their families who continue their legacy. We invited you visit a Missouri state park to connect with nature and reflect on their sacrifices.

Saturday, May 23

👉5-6pm -- Archery at Montauk! Between the rearing pools and the mill. Try your hand at this ancient sport. Two certified instructors will guide you through safe archery techniques. Right-handed bows only. Ages 9 and up recommended.

👉8:30pm -- Candlelight Mill Tour. Meet at the old mill for a shadowy tour and learn about the Montauk community that prospered over 100 years ago.

Sunday, May 24

👉2pm -- Meet Jake the Snake! in the campground amphitheater and learn all about Missouri's snakes!

👉3-5pm -- Montauk Mill Open. Come by the historic Montauk Mill and learn about its history and life in the Montauk Valley 100 years ago. Recently re-opened following 2024 flood damage.

👉8:30pm -- Montauk 101. Join us at the campground amphitheater as we explore Montauk's rich history during our . See what goes on behind the scenes with the dedicated folks who work here and the many stories that make .

Pardon our progress! Beginning Monday, May 18, the showerhouse at Campground Loop 4 will be closed as we prepare for its demolition and replacement. Visitors will need to use the showerhouse between Loops 1 & 2 during this time.

Did you miss getting one of our Montauk centennial shirts at Mill Days last weekend? Want to wear some wherever you go? We have limited supply (44) of shirts in various sizes and two colors (blue and salmon) for $20. Shirts will be for sale at the campground fee booth, or at the park office.

Excuse our mess! Contractors will begin repairing the damaged section of asphalt parking lot at the While Oak Hole and two sections of the main road through the campground. These sections were damaged by flooding in November 2024 and repairs are being funded by FEMA. Visitors will still be able to use the campground road, but traffic will be limited to one lane during repairs.
