Pardon our progress! Beginning Monday, May 18, the showerhouse at Campground Loop 4 will be closed as we prepare for its demolition and replacement. Visitors will need to use the showerhouse between Loops 1 & 2 during this time.

Did you miss getting one of our Montauk centennial shirts at Mill Days last weekend? Want to wear some wherever you go? We have limited supply (44) of shirts in various sizes and two colors (blue and salmon) for $20. Shirts will be for sale at the campground fee booth, or at the park office.

Excuse our mess! Contractors will begin repairing the damaged section of asphalt parking lot at the While Oak Hole and two sections of the main road through the campground. These sections were damaged by flooding in November 2024 and repairs are being funded by FEMA. Visitors will still be able to use the campground road, but traffic will be limited to one lane during repairs.

Activities include historical skill demonstrations, an arts and crafts fair, self-guided walking and mill tours, "then/now" pictures, hands-on crafts & games, and more! We're celebrating 100 years of during this ! You won't want to miss it!

Another weekend, another schedule of fun programs at Montauk: 👇

Friday, April 24:

👉9:00am-3:00pm -- Montauk Arbor Day! We'll be handing out (while supplies last) free tree seedlings for visitors to take home and plant! Look for the table on the park office porch across from Montauk Lodge.

👉8:00pm -- Join us at the campground amphitheater for Montauk 101. Whether you've been coming all your life, or this is your first time here, you're bound to learn something new about Montauk's colorful history.

Saturday, April 25:

👉8:00am -- Ozark Rivers Audubon Chapter - Rolla will hold a bird hike. Meet at the old stone shelter for a guided hike and wildflower walk. Bring binoculars if you have them, plus water to drink and bug spray. At noon, the chapter will hold their annual BBQ.

👉5:00pm -- Meet at the Naturalist Office across from the hatchery for an Evening on the Ridge. ee abundant wildflowers and enjoy the emergence of spring on this two-mile loop trail. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water and bug spray.

👉And don't forget -- our Centennial Celebration and Old Mill Days is fast approaching on May 8 & 9.

Evening programs are back!

Friday, April 17

8:00pm: Nighttime is the Right Time. Join guest speaker Sophie Krautman from the L-A-D Foundation at the campground amphitheater as we recognize International Dark Sky Week for a presentation about Missouri's nocturnal animals. Then stick around afterwards for a tour of the stars (weather permitting) as we explore the stories in the night sky's constellations.

Saturday, April 18

3:00pm: Join us at the campground amphitheater as we learn All About Hummingbirds. How do these feathered jewels fly backwards? How do they migrate across the Guld? See one up close to appreciate how tiny hummingbirds are. Includes a FREE hummingbird feeder! (as supplies last)

8:00pm: Noisy Nighttime: the sounds of frogs and toads! Missouri spring nights are filled with squeaks, groans, and rasps of all sorts of frogs and other creatures. Join us at the campground amphitheater as we take a dive into these odd and funny sounds and the fantastic creatures make them.

We're just shy of one month out from our Centennial Old Mill Days event on Friday and Saturday, May 8 & 9, 2026, from 9am to 4pm. Join us for live music, a craft fair, blacksmithing, rope making, beekeeping, and living history as we highlight what makes what we call "Montauk Magic". We hope you'll join us!
