🔥 Marion County Fire District #1 Personnel Deployed to Wildfires 🔥

Marion County Fire District #1 currently has 7 personnel, both career and volunteer, assigned to two different wildfire incidents across Oregon.

🚒 HB31 is assigned to Task Force 55 and is working the Wright Springs Fire near Klamath Falls.

🚒 T319 is assigned to Task Force 63 and is working the Rowe Creek Complex near Prineville.

Additionally, two staff vehicles with personnel serving on the overhead team are assigned to the Rowe Creek Complex.

We are proud of our personnel for answering the call and supporting communities affected by these fires. We wish everyone a safe deployment, successful operations, and, most importantly, a safe return home to their families and loved ones. ❤️‍🔥

Stay safe out there! 🚒🔥

We are pleased to have participated in another successful year of the annual St. Paul 4th of July Parade, honored to be part of this esteemed event. Our volunteers proudly represented us with four pieces of apparatus in the parade. Additionally, we were delighted to have Board Member Michael Stoffey and his wife in attendance.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect time to cohost the Oregon Volunteer Firefighters Association (OVFA) Annual Conference with the Keizer Volunteer Firefighters Association for the third and final year before the conference heads up the road to the DPSST campus for 2027! Thank you to the OVFA volunteers and staff; our sister agency instructors from around the state who are volunteering their time and talents (and in some cases apparatus!) to teach attendees, our partners at Chemeketa Community College for the use of the Brooks Regional Public Safety Training Faciity; the sponsors who make the conference financially viable; and Powerland Heritage Park for hosting the banquet and charity auction which will benefit the Burn Camp, a summer camp program for children and teens who have experienced burn injuries hosted by the Oregon Burn Center. Thank you especially to the men and women of the Oregon Volunteer and Combination Fire Service who continue to show up on Oregonians' worst days, day in and day out.

We couldn't ask for better weather to spend all day training on the fundamentals. We are out here this morning training on taking a hydrant, pulling hose lines, throwing ladders, and pumping the engines. After lunch, we will turn it up a notch with more skills.

Did you know that the week of April 12-16 is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week?

We's like to give a special shout out to the Emergency Telecommunicators at Willamette Valley Communications Center 911 and Metcom 911 - true professionals under the headset who not get only get to tell the cops (and us) where to go but are also the calm voices on the other end of the phone when you call 9-1-1.

Thank you for all you do for us and the people of Marion County!
