Salem NH Lions Club

Salem NH Lions Club The Salem New Hampshire Lions Club serves its community by helping those in need.

The Salem New Hampshire Lions Club is involved with many community projects, fundraising events, programs and causes to support health, education and veterans. Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world's blind, Lion

s clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community. Lions are known as knights of the blind, focusing on programs and services for the blind and visually impaired – and aim to eliminate preventable and reversible blindness. We also participate in other community health programs and projects related to other conditions such as hearing loss and diabetes.

This is the end result of a year-long process (for the 52nd year). Another great Lions Club organization providing a rewarding experience for recognized men's and women's high school seniors and benefitting other Lions organizations in both New Hampshire and Vermont.

We look forward to Year 53 in July 2027!

Great news from the organization we will be supporting at this year's Salem Lions 5K Run/Walk on September 20th. Just a reminder - if you haven't registered for this fun and supportive event, please consider doing so today!

🎉 It’s official! Weston’s Big Wish is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit! 💜💛

We are excited to share that Weston’s Big Wish has officially been recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

This is an important milestone for us and one that has taken months of work behind the scenes. But more importantly, it means we can move forward with an even stronger foundation for carrying out the wish Weston left us: to keep doing good, helping others, and bringing joy to kids fighting cancer.

Donations to Weston’s Big Wish are now tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. And for those who believed in our mission and donated while our application was still pending, our tax-exempt status is effective retroactively, so qualifying donations made during that time are also eligible for a charitable deduction. We will make sure donors receive the appropriate donation acknowledgment for their records.

And the timing couldn’t feel more fitting. 💛 Childhood Cancer Awareness Month begins tomorrow, and with the paperwork behind us, we are ready to focus on what really matters: bringing joy and smiles to children and families facing pediatric cancer today while funding research for better treatments and cures for tomorrow.

This organization exists because of one incredible 12-year-old boy who wanted his kindness to continue long after he was gone. Now it’s our job to make sure it does.

Please join us in celebrating this milestone and help us make Weston’s Big Wish as impactful as he dreamed it could be. 💜

Congratulations to Lion Susan Hopkins for receiving the “Hidden Jewel” award from the Southern New Hampshire Chamber of Commerce yesterday for all of her contributions to the community. A number of our Lions Club members attended the ceremony in support of her achievements.

While the award may be called “Hidden Jewel”, Sue is anything but hidden when it comes to her support of so many causes, including her amazing work as a member of the Salem Lions. She truly exemplifies what we mean when we say “WE SERVE”.

Thank you Sue for all that you do!

The Salem Lions Club is proud to share this news of Lion Kelly Moss receiving the Children’s Champion Award from Salem Family Resources! We’ve all witnessed firsthand her tireless efforts to raise support and awareness of childhood cancer through her creation of Weston’s Big Wish, as well as all of her involvement and advocacy in our community. We are proud to be a part of her efforts and support her in her efforts, including this year’s Salem Lions 5K Run/Walk this September 20th.

Thank you for all that you do, Kelly. You truly demonstrate through your example of how “WE SERVE”!

💙✨ Children's Champion Award Recipient – Kelly Moss ✨💙

One of the most meaningful moments of our 2nd Annual Gala will be recognizing an individual whose compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to children has touched countless lives.

This year, Salem Family Resources is honored to present our Children's Champion Award to Kelly Moss.

Many in our community know Kelly through the heartbreaking loss of her son, Weston, who courageously battled Ewing Sarcoma. But this award is not about the tragedy Kelly has endured, it's about the incredible way she has chosen to respond to it.

In honor of Weston, Kelly founded Weston's Big Wish, a foundation dedicated to advancing awareness, research, and hope for children facing pediatric cancer. Even during Weston's illness, Kelly's heart remained focused on helping others, donating his remaining specialized formula to our pantry so another family could benefit.

Kelly has spent years investing in children through her work in education and her incredible volunteer leadership throughout Salem. From serving on the Recreation Advisory Committee, Cub Scouts, the Fisk PTA, Salem's Charter Commission, the Salem Area Women's Club, the Salem Lions Club, and now as Vice Chair of the Salem School Board, she has continually dedicated her time, talents, and voice to making our community a better place for children and families.

Kelly reminds us that even in life's most difficult moments, love can become purpose, and loss can become a legacy of hope for others.

Please join us in congratulating Kelly Moss, our 2026 Children's Champion Award Recipient. 💙 We are honored to celebrate her remarkable service, unwavering advocacy, and the incredible difference she continues to make in the lives of children and families.
