Talking Book & Braille Library patrons, join us for a live discussion with best-selling author Peter Heller and Colorado Public Radio journalist Maeve Conran about how landscape becomes a character. We’ll discuss Heller’s novels The Orchard (DB134029), and The Dog Stars (DBO75493), which is being released in August as a major motion picture.

The exhibit highlights the resilience and adaptability of librarians through the challenges and changes that have occurred since the early 1800s. Through the Great Depression, both World Wars, sociopolitical changes, and ever-advancing technology, librarians' goal of providing free access to information and knowledge has remained the same.

The Oregon Talking Book & Braille Library is participating in the all-ages Summer Reading Program with the National Library Service for the Blind & Print Disabled! This year’s theme is “Unearth a Story.” 📖🪏🪨🦖

From June 15 through August 11, we’ll be digging into stories about landscapes, history, science, archives, and more through live virtual author conversations and immersive, narrated tours through National Parks.
