What were you doing during the 1964 Christmas flood? What do you remember about the 1996 flood? Add your comments below.
We have a wonderful display about floods on the Willamette River, including the great flood of 1861, and those in our more recent memory, the Christmas Flood of 1964 and the flood of 1996.
In this picture is a map of the Willamette River and Pudding River, with its main channel in white and the flood plains in varying shades of blue. Come see it in person, it is fabulous!
