July 16th is Rural Transit Day, an opportunity to recognize the essential role that rural transportation providers play in connecting people and strengthening communities. Since 1996, Mountain Valley Transit has helped expand access for residents and visitors through door-to-door transportation service. From grocery stores and community events to recreation centers, medical appointments, and more, we connect people to the places they need to go.

The impact of these trips extends far beyond transportation. Research has found that, in some cases, rural demand-response transit can generate nearly $4 in public benefit for every $1 invested.

The past year has been a challenge for us in the wake of budget cuts and staffing turnover. We're grateful for all the support we've received from local stakeholders, including the Board of County Commissioners, the Community Foundation, the Public Health Department, and individual donors. It's because of people like you that we're able to continue upholding our mission - to support independence, improve quality of life, reduce transportation costs, and lower environmental impact.

We're not just in the business of transportation. We're in the business of helping our community.
