Our mission is to use the limited carbon bi-products that would otherwise be sent to the landfill, as the main source of cellulose. Whether you're a backyard gardener, professional landscaper, or local farmer, Elements Mountain Compost can create a concoction for you. Okay so, we recognize that our last fun compost fact has little to nothing to do with us, but we really love it, so here goes:

Australian Brush Turkeys actually create compost piles in which to incubate their eggs; the heat from the microbial activity in the piles keeps their eggs warm! It is the males who actually build the compost piles, even taking temperature checks with their beaks & adding or removing materials to maintain a perfect incubation temp!

Today’s Fact:

Actinobacteria produce the rich smell of soil, similar to a forest floor, and is one of the primary decomposers in hot composting. Certain strains actually live in our gut, and produce the chemical precursors for serotonin and dopamine production. Happy soil = Happy people. 🄹

When a true rainstorm rolls in, he ensures the entire pile gets moisture by creating vents across the top and sides with a shovel. This pile will also get turned tomorrow, completing the process. The more you know!
