Hey, C**t Rd. residents, we found a set of keys in the driveway today. It has a couple unique keys and key ring shaped like a foot. We want to get them back to the rightful owner so if you lost these, let us know. You'll need to identify the special keys on the keyring to claim them.

Unseasonably warm temperatures and ongoing dry conditions will continue to place southwest Kansas in an area favorable for elevated to critical fire weather conditions late this week.

04/14/2026

Another similar weather day on tap. Red Flag conditions behind the dryline with strong winds. To the east of the dryline, severe storms possible again, very large hail, damaging winds, localized flooding & tornadoes possible. Stay weather aware this evening once again.

🚗📵 April is — a reminder that one moment of distraction when driving can change everything. Stay focused. Stay present. Lives depend on it.

🔥 Reminder: Following yesterday’s prescribed and intentional burning, please take the time to ensure your fire remains contained and does not escape and become a wildfire.

Firefighters across Kansas put their lives on the line every day to protect homes, communities, and livelihoods. Many of these individuals are dedicated volunteers who serve without compensation.

Before igniting any fire, have a plan in place for worst-case scenarios and be prepared to respond quickly if conditions change.

There has been several controlled burns in the last few days. If you had one, please go police your burn today and make absolutely sure there are no hot spots before tomorrow's wind. Many wildland fires are started by leftover controlled burns. Don't let yours be the next one!

Very High to Extreme fire danger and strong southwest wind gusts are expected for Thursday afternoon and evening across central and south central Kansas. Avoid outdoor burning as any fire would be very difficult to impossible to control.
