Heads up to Salina, Hays, McPherson and the surrounding areas: I will be out of the local area this week.

I am currently on a TDY (Temporary Duty) for some advanced training. One of the most common questions I get is, 'Do you actually get to travel?' The answer is yes, and in the Air Force, we do it for professional development.

A TDY is when the Air Force sends you to travel for specialized training, a conference, or a specific mission. The goal is simple: to invest in you and make you an expert in your field.

And yes, sometimes the 'temporary duty' location is a pretty nice place to be. While this is a work trip—not a vacation—the Air Force understands that if you are going to work hard and learn all day, you need a good place to rest and recharge at night.

I’ll be back in the office and on the road in our local towns next week. In the meantime, my DMs are still open if you have questions or want to start planning your future.

Walking across the stage with a guaranteed plan.

Huge congratulations to Daniel Smith on graduating from Southeast of Saline High School! While a lot of seniors spend their senior year stressing about what comes next, Daniel put in the work early. By utilizing the Delayed Entry Program, they are stepping off the high school stage and straight into a secured career in the U.S. Air Force.

Daniel will also be receving college credits towards an Associates Degree through the Community College of the Air Force-Completely debt-free!

It has been an absolute privilege working with you to make this happen. Precision planning pays off, and I am incredibly proud to see you take this next step toward your future as an Airman.

Spent some time on the road today, getting to know the communities of Palco, Stockton, and Osborne.

Every one of these small towns has its own unique character, and it was great to see their local pride on full display in these incredible murals. From the classic 'Greetings from Stockton' sign to the beautiful landscapes in Palco and the welcome mural in Osborne, it's clear these communities have a deep sense of identity.

The U.S. Air Force is built on talent from towns just like these—places where creativity, community, and a strong work ethic are a way of life.

My job is to make sure everybody in every corner of Kansas knows what opportunities are out there for them. If you're from Palco, Stockton, Osborne, or any of the surrounding areas and have questions about the Air Force, send me a message. I'm here to give you the information.

Behind every successful Airman is a foundation built by their local community.

This Teacher Appreciation Week is especially meaningful to me, as I was fortunate to have two amazing educators in my life: my grandparents. Because of them, I know firsthand the dedication and patience our teachers pour into their students every single day.

When I visit schools across Central and Western Kansas, I see that same commitment. You don't just teach subjects; you help young adults build the character and confidence to go after their dreams.

To every teacher: On behalf of the U.S. Air Force, and from me personally, thank you. I greatly appreciate everything you do.

It doesn't get easier. You get stronger.

This isn't your average workout. This is for Special Warfare development. We're out here on the track seeing who has the grit to push past the temporary pain for a purpose that lasts a lifetime. It hurts now, but the pride you earn is forever.

Huge respect for these young men for showing up and putting in the work. This is where you find out what you're really made of.

Think you have what it takes to join the Air Force's most elite operators? The conversation starts here, but the real test starts on the field.

Busy weekend out in Kansas, two very different, but awesome events.

Started off at Legionfest down in Ellsworth, KS. Getting out to the American Legion and seeing the memorial there is always a good reminder of why we do this job. It’s all about honoring the legacy of the folks who served before us in these communities.

Then headed over to Hays for the KScience Festival. Honestly, seeing the kids out there working with the robotics setups and telescopes was impressive. The Air Force and Space Force run on that exact kind of STEM talent, so it was great to see that level of interest right here in Kansas.

Two great towns and two great events. Whether you’re motivated by carrying on a family tradition of service, or you want to get your hands on some next-level tech, there’s a path for you.

If you’re in the Ellsworth or Hays area and want the straight facts on your options, send me a message.
