What really drives affordability in California? 🏠🥬

Two recent UC Santa Cruz studies take very different approaches to wages and cost of living in California. One examines farmworkers in the Salinas Valley, while the other analyzes the impact of the state’s $20 fast-food minimum wage.

The takeaway? Higher wages alone do not solve affordability challenges. Housing shortages, regulatory barriers, and rising business costs all play a major role.
