This is a full-time position, requires weekend availability, that provides a safe and therapeutic environment for foster youth living at the Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). YSC staff oversee the facility and the well-being of residents under the direction of the Program Manager.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide parental quality supervision, protection, and guidance to STRTP residents at night.
2. Prepare snacks for residents as needed.
3. Be able to intervene during crisis situations and make appropriate decisions.
4. Supervise well-being of residents.
5. Communicate with peers and management team regarding residents’ behavior and needs.
6. Contribute to progress notes about STRTP residents.
7. Administrate discipline and set limits for appropriate behavior.
8. Initiate activities for residents during their shift as needed.
9. Transport residents in the event of an emergency.
10. Report to STRTP Program Manager, Head of Service, and Clinical Director the identification of any additional needs or services for particular residents.
11. Assure cleanliness, appearance and maintenance of the facility.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s Degree if hired after January 1, 2017
o Experience working with at-risk children and youth
o Strong communication skills, interpersonal and listening skills
o Self-directed and able to manage time effectively
o Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality as needed
Additional Requirements:
o Satisfy the Department of Social Services and Department of Justice finger print clearance requirements
o Possess a valid California Driver’s License and have access to a reliable and insured vehicle
o Have a clean DMV printout
o Have negative T.B. Test
o Current First Aid/CPR certification
