Not a turtle...but CUTE!

“Fear me, the mighty kraken!” to 2004 and this itty bitty baby red octopus! This diminutive cephalopod species lives about two years and grows to around 20 inches. Just-hatched red octopuses begin life in the intertidal and shallow subtidal zones. Juveniles, like this one, make their homes on kelp holdfasts before migrating offshore and settling on the sandy sea floor.
