We’re honored to shine a light this month on the transformative work of the Family Acceptance Project (FAP) and their powerful contributions to the Rainbow Connections project, supporting LGBTQ+ students and the families who care for them. 🌈💛
💚 How FAP strengthens families and communities:
〰️ Evidence‑Based Support That Saves Lives: Leading nationally recognized research and guidance that show how family acceptance and support protects LGBTQ+ children and youth from depression, su***de risk, and other serious health challenges—while improving overall wellbeing across culture and faith.
🌟 Training for Youth‑Serving Professionals: Offering training for educators, providers, clinicians and general audiences to build affirming environments where LGBTQ+ children and youth can thrive. Their trainings equip adults with practical, culturally grounded strategies to reduce risk and strengthen resilience.
🏳️🌈 Centering Family Support: Providing tools and education that help families show support in ways proven to improve health, mental health, and safety outcomes for LGBTQ+ youth. Their work empowers families to be a protective force in their child’s life.
📚 Accessible, High‑Quality Learning: Through evidence-based trainings—led by experts Dr. Caitlin Ryan and Antonia Barba, LCSW—FAP has brought critical knowledge directly to communities, schools, and partners across Monterey county and beyond.
🙏 We are deeply grateful for FAP’s partnership and unwavering dedication to helping LGBTQ+ children and youth feel supported, affirmed, and safe—at home, at school, and in their communities. 💛🌈
