Smoke From Canadian Wildfires Impacting Washtenaw County.

The Saline Area Fire Authority would like to make residents aware that smoke from ongoing Canadian wildfires may lead to reduced air quality throughout Washtenaw County and Southeast Michigan. While the fires are not a direct threat to our community, the smoke can travel hundreds of miles and create health concerns for residents.
Wildfire smoke can cause eye, nose, and throat irritation, coughing, shortness of breath, and may worsen asthma, COPD, or heart conditions. Children, older adults, and those with respiratory or heart disease are especially vulnerable.

If you experience severe breathing difficulties, chest pain, or worsening symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
