Meet the Women Behind the Chamber

There are Chamber officer meetings… and then there are Salisbury Chamber officer meetings.

Four women. Four very different personalities. Usually several opinions. Occasionally a few colorful words. But always one common goal: Salisbury.

Wendy Noll, Melanie Latamondeer, Kari Littleton and Terry Hulett volunteer hours upon hours of their time because we believe a stronger business community makes a stronger town — and a stronger town gives our local businesses a better chance to grow and succeed.

Right now, we're tackling some pretty big projects.

We've been working collectively on the Salisbury Canvass Cruise and murals, finding new ways to tell Salisbury's stories, showcase our history and give people a reason to get off the highway and explore our town. We're pretty proud that around here, our buildings talk back.

And then there's the community sign.

Folks, we really, really need to replace those electronic panels. Really.

We're working to raise the money for new panels that are brighter, easier to read and — perhaps most importantly — can be managed by more than one person from a phone.

This would benefit the entire community.

It would also dramatically reduce the number of times Melanie drives through the intersection, looks at the current sign and cusses.

Please consider that a public service.

Behind the jokes, though, is something we're proud of. These four women give their time, talents, businesses, connections and more than a few evenings to projects they believe will make Salisbury better.

We don't always approach things the same way. That's actually our strength. Our officer meetings are four personalities, four perspectives and four sets of skills working toward one common goal:

Our town.

So we want to introduce you to the women behind the titles — including a few things that probably wouldn't make it into an official biography.

Because if we're asking our businesses and community to believe in what we're doing, you ought to know who's doing the work.

I am also now putting school events on the sign as well. Please be patient as I pick through all the calendars!

We are currently doing not for profit events for free. A birthday or anniversary costs $15 with all proceeds going towards maintenance on the sign.

IT'S TIME TO TAKE THE CRUISE!

Three years in the making, the Salisbury Canvass Cruise is officially live!

After three years of developing the concept, raising funds for murals, researching Salisbury's history, recording stories, collecting photographs, building web pages and bringing countless pieces together, we're ready to invite you to start exploring.

The initial Canvass Cruise sites are up and going — with more being added!

The Canvass Cruise will continue to grow. More locations, more stories, more photographs and more pieces of Salisbury's history will be added as we continue researching and as our community helps us uncover them.

Food, drinks and ice cream...what more would you want on a beautiful evening at the park........how about Meeting the Panthers!!

Food trucks open at 5, trams take to the stage at 7!!!

BillyBob and Bonnie enjoyed a side by side ride while Wendy and Melanie checked all the QR codes that are up. We took the Bluetooth speaker spaceman with us so we could hear the audio recordings while riding around......if your phone is Bluetooth into your vehicle, the majority of the codes can be scanned without getting out and everybody in the car can listen together!

We have a couple to fix and 3 more to load audio on for the city and park system.

We are almost there.......
