Ghost stories have been around as long as there have been people telling stories. Here in the Adirondacks, we have plenty of scary stories that have been told and retoldโ€”especially as groups sit around a campfire late at night. Telling ghost stories was a favorite pastime of the traditional Adirondack Guide. It was and still is, a great way to share the folklore of the region.

! We need more calls, letters, and emails to get the bill passed! Please *POLITELY* and *RESPECTFULLY* ask Governor Kathy Hochul to sign A.2917/S.4099 into law. โœ๏ธThis bill passed both houses with bipartisan support. ๐Ÿ‘The legislation ONLY ends wildlife for cash competitions, in which New Yorkโ€™s wildlife resources are needlessly killed in fringe events for cash and prizes. This bill will not change any hunting season or bag limits for species. Deer, bear and turkey are exempt in the bill, as these species are already closely regulated by the state and are not a part of these fringe competitions. These contests do not control wildlife populations โ€“ their only purpose is to use our shared wildlife for monetary profit.๐Ÿ‘Ž The bill is supported by a diverse group of statewide stakeholders, including farmers, wildlife rehabilitators, veterinarians, and hunters. Environmental organizations such as the Adirondack Council and Sierra Club endorse A.2917/S.4099. These extreme competitions are an unacceptable waste of our wildlife, that is held in public trust for all New Yorkers. Again, these contests do not serve any wildlife management purpose and we should not allow the pilfering of our wildlife resources for private profit. New York would be the ninth state pass this legislation.๐ŸคฉGovernor's phone: 518-474-8390. /https://www.governor.ny.gov/content/governor-contact-form ๐Ÿ‘ˆ Many thanks!๐Ÿ‘
